Astrological Depression – Clues for Coping

It's the scourge of the modern age and affects everyone at some time of his or her life. For some, it last a few weeks, for others a few months and for a great many people it can go on for years and years. Do you often feel as though life has let you down, feeling as though no one cares or understands you? Do you have trouble facing the morning or, coping with the lonely nights? Have you ever found yourself sitting alone, staring into empty space, wishing you were dead! For some people their only hope is medication. For others, therapy is necessary. For the vast majority, young or old, we suffer in silence. No one knows how it happens and no one really knows when it will go but for everyone going through it, depression is a Living Hell. This transcript won't cure you of your depression but it might help you to understand where it's coming from and once you admit this to yourself you might be able to re - focus your thinking and struggle your way out of it.

Aries: A lack of self-image. A lack of self worth, blaming your childhood experiences for all that is happening in your life, a lack of passion, a lack of self-motivation, a lack of get-up-and-go? If so, then you're taking yourself far too seriously and are lacking the necessary 'push' to bring the things you want in life. You must learn to conserve every gram of energy and focus it into specific areas. Take a look at your physical appearance and make some changes. Put some money aside and take a holiday or, just go to the movies. Motivate yourself rather than waiting for others to motivate you. Keep an honest diary of your daily thoughts and then do something about what you are recording each day. Above all don't lose faith.

Taurus: Financial pressures getting you down? Not having the things' others seem to have? Not being able to manage your income and earnings no matter how much money you earn? You are depressed, aren't you? It's time to start believing in yourself, to discover you are worth something (even if your parents constantly told you that you'd never amount to anything). You might have difficulties in managing money so start a savings plan for the things that you really want. You'll tend to look at your work as a means to an end instead of the service you are providing. Enjoy your workplace and if your career is not rewarding make some changes, be seen as someone who is confident capable, considerate and promotion, success and advancement will soon come your way.

Gemini: Blaming your lack of education? Family and friends not keeping in touch or, the telephone never ringing, no letters being received, no contact with your neighbours, you have a difficulty in communicating, don't you? Learn to say what you mean and mean what you say, stop trying to be `Mr/Ms nice guy'. It's time to be honest with those whom you love and care about. Keep in touch with friends for they might just be as depressed as you waiting for your phone call letter. The future is you’re making and if you don't create it who will? Stop relying on your partner (or lack thereof) to fulfil your need's for sometimes it's better to be by yourself, on your own and happy with your own company than being with someone else and unhappy.

Cancer: Not having a house of your own or, feeling a failure for not being like everyone else? Blaming your life - style for not giving you the security you need? You may be too sensitive for your own good; too emotional and letting others influence you too much. This is your life so, stop trying to be like everyone else for in doing so life will constantly bring you frustration after frustration if you continually try to be like others or, continue to put others before yourself. You may, at times, felt you have unwittingly hurt someone's feelings by wanting to do your own thing ending up worrying over any so-called `slight'. Stop feeling as though you are selfish and start thinking of your SELF.

Leo: Not having enough romance in your life? Sitting alone at home watching the TV thinking everyone else is having the time of his or her life? Feeling as though the `fun' has gone out of your existence? If so then admit it, you are depressed. It's time to get out and meet `real' people, people you have something in common with, people you can talk to on subjects which really matter. Join groups, get involved in community programmes, stop thinking about yourself and start thinking of the welfare of others. It's when you do this that the `fun' and romance' really begins.

Virgo: Health problems (real or imagined)? Work difficulties? You do your best but are constantly overlooked when promotion comes around. Aren't you? If so, then for too long you have limited yourself. For too long you have undersold your talents. Your health isn't as bad as you think so stop imagining things, in fact, tension is the disease of the 20th century and you are creating more tension in your life than you know. If you find, in your work, that others are being promoted over you think about this:"They were ready, you were not"

Libra: Relationship or marriage problems? Often thinking your partner doesn't understand or, care about you? This is one of the major areas, which causes depression (especially for Librans) as we tend to `project' onto our partners more than he/she is capable of providing. Stop `projecting' your hopes and dreams, your desires and expectations onto your partner. Communication is the real problem for you often expect your `other half' to read your mind. You are an adult and it's time to behave like one and let your partner know about your needs, emotional, sexual and otherwise. If you don't talk to him / her how can you expect them to satisfy or fulfill your NEEDS?

Scorpio: The loss of a loved one, the loss of sexual desire. Feeling as though something is about to 'explode'? No wonder you're depressed. It's time to value your own worth, to get on with your own life. Sure, times have been tough but you've survived. Get your act together and capitalise on your assets. If you are surrounded by 'things' of no real value then it's time to sell them, to rid yourself of any 'noose around your neck', if you've more money than you need 'maybe you should consider helping those who are struggling, just like you used to do! It's time to look to the future and create a better reality for you and yours. If you have a strong sexual desire, don't be afraid of expressing it for it's when we suppress any urge that it leads to frustration / depression.

Sagittarius: Feeling as though you have no 'luck' and thinking everyone else is luckier than you? Have you lost your faith or finding your prayers unanswered, stop thinking about your life and start living it, it’s time to stop philosophising and start enjoying yourself. Too much analysis leads to a 'paralysis' of the mind. Have a little more faith in yourself and remember: "Tomorrow is another day." Maybe it's time you started talking the same 'language' instead of talking over their heads! You can be a lot of fun if only you would learn to laugh at yourself a little.

Capricorn: Career causing frustration? Feeling as though you're trapped forever in a dull job? Or, have you just been retrenched and feeling a failure? Problems coping with parents; don't even think for a moment you’re coping, you need help! People are noticing your `world' is collapsing so let them help you, stop being so independent, seek professional counselling. Changing or losing one’s career can be a devastating experience but it's not the end of the world. Have confidence in your abilities and present yourself in your best possible light. Stop blaming 'fate' for what's happening to you, for the events of today were YOUR thoughts of yesterday so, start thinking positive about the future instead of being so fearful.

Aquarius: No real friends, only acquaintances? Have you no real interests or hobbies? Do you often think there is no future ahead of you? If so, you'll need to 'spread your wings'. It's no good sitting at home and expecting the world to come knocking on your door, you must make the effort. Begin today to make plans for your future, stop looking to the past for it is DEAD. Make new friends; join a new group take up a new hobby. Why not consider taking a course of education? And remember the more you open up and talk about your fears and phobias the quicker will be your 'road to recovery.'

Pisces: Imagining all sorts of things? Worrying about the health of others or, having to look after a sick child, parent or partner and it's getting you down? Are you limiting yourself from attempting the things you want to do in life? It's time to put your imagination to good use instead of allowing it to worry the living daylights out of. If you've been burdened with an ill relative try to put it into perspective for you've done your best, you've sacrificed enough. People get sick for all sorts of reasons, not always medical. Look for your 'strengths, stop dwelling on your weaknesses. It's time to live not just exist. Have your own health checked and once you find out you're healthier than you thought, begin to do the things you have always wanted to do. It's too easy to be a martyr, too easy to feel a victim if you want to change your life then only you can make a start. Changing your thoughts is the first step in changing your life.

Every newspaper and magazine worth its salt has an Astrology section for they know their readers will look at their STARS even if they don’t believe them...

Making Astrology work for you can bring love, money, happiness, satisfaction and pleasure, how can we make it work in our everyday life to bring us the things we desire? It’s a lot easier than you think for once you understand the basics the rest takes care of itself. The Sun moves into each sign once a month – changing the energy, focus and offering hope. The Moon zaps through all the signs in a month –changing your mood every 2nd or 3rd day, the rest of the planets move through the signs and houses at different speeds, some staying longer than others, with the planet Pluto taking the longest, currently in the sign of Capricorn. Pluto has always been associated with death and re-birth, transformation and conversion. I don’t know about you but going through any kind of ‘transformation’ is not as easy as it sounds – neither is any kind of ‘death and re-birth’ it’s all too painful...

Personally, I look upon Pluto as the God of Wealth, of hidden treasures and inner resources and the easiest way to use this ‘power’ is to understand the houses he visits for when he enter a sign or ‘touches’ one of your natal planets contained in that sign or house he brings change, he transforms, he converts. To give you an example I have Mercury at 5 degrees Capricorn (Transiting Pluto is ‘playing’ with my Mercury – too long a conversation to say what this means suffice to say ‘something’ is happening). The house Pluto visits has this to say to you:

Transiting Pluto into your 1st when you look back at this time in your life, you’ll recognise it as a period of major transformation, perhaps the most important one in your life. It won't happen all at once, slowly but surely your life is being altered, you may not realise the extent and importance of this time until you are much older and wiser but and here is the big but -this is a time of major transformation to your life. Try to recognise the need for change, and be willing to let it happen. You'll feel drained of confidence and energy, and may become disillusioned, learn to relax and deal with things as they come; most of all, accept change. Your life is being redirected; read the signposts. The First House is about identity. It describes your personality, how you see yourself and how others see you! It can also describe your physical appearance, the self, your inner motivation, your physical appearance and soul purpose, along with your initial approach to life.

Transiting Pluto into your 2nd Another long-term transit transforming many levels of your life – where you find yourself involved with something you said you would never do! You may even discover a secret admirer for there are changes in your love life and love of life - you’ve never dreamed of, all without too much effort on your part! Keep in mind during this transit your emotions and values are in the process of change and when this period is over you’ll be a new personality – wearing new clothes – possessing new values. The way you feel about love and relationships, for instance, will be completely different! Your taste is undergoing a change, from the way you dress, to the music you listen to; from your taste in interior decorating to your ideas about love, where your values, emotions and your love life are being tested to the full now. The Second House is about your talents, it describes what you value ranging from physical possessions and money, to personal self esteem and talents. Transiting Pluto into the 3rd Keep a note pad or diary with you because you’ll be doing everything ‘backwards’ where your memory lets you down, where mental tension and confusion reign supreme! Learn to relax, study meditation, and get involved with yoga and its principles – particularly those exercises involving deep breathing. Mental power struggles and coercion by those who want to control your thinking are all likely. Financial problems can arise - travelling is less safe and you should keep away from dangerous neighbourhoods! Positively: Your mental attitude alters constructively as a result of this period, don't try to force your ideas onto others, and resist the attempts of others to control you mentally. This is the perfect time to write a book, or to do something creative with your hands, like sculpture, playing piano, guitar, anything for as soon as you have an outlet which is constructive and free-flowing, you’ll be rid of any tension and stress. Think positive thoughts, because those thoughts will become real. This is a good time for self-improvement at all levels. The Third House is about communication. It also refers to early learning, siblings, immediate environment and short journeys. Your creative life will come in ‘violent’ outbursts of emotional fervour formulating ideas in art - be it painting, music or literature – seeming to come from the back of beyond or the recesses of your childhood! Transiting Pluto into 6th: Some people say you're obsessive, others say you’re 'Phobic' whatever it is, one thing's for sure - when it comes to health and diet, you just can't be too careful! It's like you have x-ray eyes and can see all the antibodies and disease-harbouring bacteria floating around the body! Thoughts will come quickly, be ready for them with pen and paper, for they are fleeting and if you don’t write them down there’ll be no lasting success. If facing exams your memory will tend to let you down thereby creating mental tension, creating stress, creating illness, creating. You’ll be subject to mental power struggles and coercion by those who want to control your thinking! Transiting Pluto into the 7th At this time, your emotions and values are in the process of change and when this period is over you’ll be a completely new person with the way you feel about love and relationships to be completely different, for there’ll certainly be changes in your love life (love of life) that you’d never dreamt of. While it's all in the process of happening, you're not quite sure what you want so relax and let it unfold. You want to be in control, and can be quite obsessed with a relationship, or just love, the problem is, you can't control other people's feelings! Transiting Pluto into the 8th This will prove a time of inner and outer change - your life is in a constant state of slow evolution that is entirely natural. This is a radical transition period; where the changes you go through become obvious to everyone and you have to gracefully (remember this word and where it comes from) allow certain parts of your life to fade into the past – to let go – to let die.If you have an active, ongoing lifestyle, this should be no problem - if you are rigid and emotionally set in your ways you’re in for a shock or two (liking this transit to the mid-life crisis) a landmark stage in your life - you should be able to adjust for it doesn't happen overnight! Transiting Pluto into 9th The occult, and things to do with magic and mystery, learning something new, even a “peak experience” or ‘spiritual conversion’! If planning any kind of travelling, you could come into unexpected difficulties with strangers or strange (foreign) places so check all travel plans carefully. You’ll have big expectations now and if you don't put yourself out on a limb, you’ll miss out on making considerable headway! Don't push your ideas onto others who may not be ready for them, or care for them for you can see the ‘big picture’ others may not! Use strictly honest methods; avoid dealings with corrupt people and situations that could bring you into conflict with the authorities! Transiting Pluto into the 10th: You’ll find yourself experiencing unforseen restrictions with elder members of the family, or the law! This is not a good period to express your points of view over to others, especially those who are superior to yourself! At the same time however, you may have to struggle against dishonesty and authority figures against those who are on some kind of power trip! Keep away from corrupt characters, or if dealing with them is unavoidable, remain strictly honest yourself. Eventually (and this transit can last a long time) you’re going to rid yourself of old fears and restrictions, as well as things that were programmed into you when you were very young! It might be difficult to let go - don't be afraid - a new, freer lifestyle awaits you yet you may have difficulty in reconciling yourself in giving up certain things because they’ve represented security- even if they don't make you happy! If you’re trying and trying and not getting anywhere, it's because you can't go any further in the direction you were headed! Your life is in a state of transition; something that was predicted for you many years ago will begin to happen now, giving you a new lease of life and new confidence in yourself. You’ll discover the patience and ability to organise and be more organised and make a lot of progress professionally. The Tenth House is about your public life. It shows you’re standing in the community, career, and social status and can reflect your attitude to parenting. We’ve all read about Neptune being the lord of the sea – the planet of mystery and imagination. Here’s my spin on this ‘energy’ in your chart for we must never forget, Astrology is a language of symbols – some rich in imagery others difficult to visualise more so when you consider the symbology of Neptune – those who are oppressed or abandoned - the misfits of society! On a higher level ‘he’ rules visualisation and those who’re glamorous and charming. ‘He’ represents spirituality, mysticism, and ideal’s yet, has ‘rulership over, television, movies, fashion ballet and music! On the flip side he has rulership over dreams, drugs and alcohol!

Representing, abstract thought, the Subconscious Mind (12th house), and of course the oceans. Neptune symbolises, compassion, surrender, spirituality, meditation and isolation, Discovered in 1846 – planetary ruler of Pisces. Where you see Neptune in your chart is where you’ll be called upon to make sacrifices. If you have a ‘strong’ Neptune in your chart you’re likely to be psychic or psychotic! Vague and fuzzy or mystical and dreamlike in nature – so much to consider so let me use a technique I’ve found fascinating and offering endless discussion. When a ‘planet’ visits your house you notice it, when a planet leaves a house you feel, when a planet has been there for some time - you get used to it! He stays in each sign about 14 years and in 2011 he’ll be coming ‘home’ to Pisces! Look for which house is ruled by Pisces in your chart and read the following for he’s on the move (in transit)...

Neptune paying a visit to your 1st House This is the start of a new chapter in your life where, if you learn to listen to your own instincts and let go of past doubts, happiness and contentment can come your way, if you don't; this could be a very emotional period for you (and remember Neptune will be here for a long time)! Your ego has to be nurtured and controlled into a new way of thinking. It’s a time when you’ll see other facets of yourself and possibly like them better than the old YOU - let go and move on. You’re likely to be unusually idealistic in this period of your life so be sure your ideals are rooted in reality, and not merely a device for escaping them! Transiting Neptune into your 2nd this transit will last a long time so read all you can about what this sector represents, particularly in financial terms. In many ways you’ll enter a ‘dream world’ and if so be positive rather than negative with your ‘dreams.’ Wait until you get used to Neptune being here before making real or long-term decisions, for the moment enjoy anything of beauty, travel, or go on a retreat - even if only in your mind. Transiting Neptune into the 3rd This can be a difficult transit for logical and rational faculties will be a little scrambled! This is not a good time to organise your or anybody else's life, you’re unable to express clearly what is on your mind, even to having your decisions being handled or manipulated by others, be careful in any kind of written or verbal negotiations! There’ll be moments when, in trying to be understood, others don’t have a clue as to what you’re talking about - even thinking you’re going a little mad! There’s a saying “expect the unexpected” a stupid statement really for how can you ‘expect’ the ‘unexpected?’ Uranus in Astrology is the harbinger of change and whenever he enters or leaves a sign it’s to your advantage to prepare for ‘something’ out of the blue to take place. Let’s use the visualisation technique of a visitor arriving unexpectedly – no warning whatsoever! We’ve all experienced someone turning up on our doorstep unannounced – throwing us into a panic or welcoming our visitor with open arms as he or she creates a break in our routine. When Uranus comes knocking on your door ‘he’ stays approx eight years! In 2011 Uranus will leave Pisces and enter Aries for the first time in 84 years therefore all Arians can expect a little disruption (welcome or unwelcome) to their everyday lives. If you’re an Aries by Sun Sign or Ascendant you can look forward to a whole ‘new look’ and ‘outlook’ on life. For some this’ll be a breath of fresh air for others it’ll mean “the best laid plans of mice and men.”

You may win more than you lose, so take a chance; it’ll make you wiser, and in some way a lot richer, especially if you listen to your intuition and logic. You’ll also have the courage to think more positively regarding your love life, and the end result should be very good if you practise what you preach. If you do not sort out any emotional problems that have been concerning you they may be solved for you and you may not enjoy the conclusion! Positively, some nice surprises could come your way in this period - you may take a trip that livens up your love life or love of life! The Universal Alphabet

The New Alphabet

It has to start somewhere and it starts here - the old Alphabet has to go! Everything is different - A no longer has the value of 1! Take a look at your phone and you'll see what I mean, ABC is given the value of 2, DEF the value of 3, GHI4 and so on. Don't take my word for it, take a look at any keypad and you'll see what I mean. Now, in the 21st Century the revolution begins changing the face of Numerology forever. Read what I have to say, experiment with these techniques and you’ll be surprised as to what awaits you.

The Universal Alphabet

For years Numerologist's and all those who ‘dabbled' with numbers used the Pythagorean Alphabet with A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on, asking you to look at the vowels and consonants in the hope you'll discover the essence of the real you. There are other alphabets and other systems and all have proved their validity. For years I used the Chaldean Alphabet in all of my previous books and it had no letter ascribed the Number Nine! Now, as we move through the 21st Century: The revolution has begun there's one alphabet that's becoming standard, used universally and it changes everything. Where is this new alphabet, I hear you ask? It’s on your telephone!

Names have a meaning all of their own, I'm sure you've thought about this and dabbled with Numbers for almost everyone who explores the ‘world' of Numerology discovers each and every letter of the alphabet has a ‘number' and by giving the letters in your name a ‘number' adding these number to arrive at a total (reducing them to a single digit between one and nine) you can deduce what your name reveals about you, well that's the theory anyway...

What you're about to read has never been revealed before so take a moment to consider what I'm talking about and you'll understand what I mean and you'll come to agree with me that this NEW ALPHABET is the one and the only one we should be using for this NEW AGE. All you have to do is enter your name into your phone (your first name or, the name you're commonly known by): Add the numbers together until you have a single digit and read below what it all means. Conventional Numerology has always asked to ‘reduce' numbers to a single digit which was the way it should've been when our calendars began with the numeral 1 (as in 1900, 1800, 1700, etc, etc) all the way back to zero. Now, in the 2000's we have to look at things a little bit differently and with every mobile (cell) phone containing the alphabet above (no letters being given to the numeral one) it's time we took a different approach.

Even the world-changing event, called 9/11 reduced to a 2! Experiment a little using your given name, your nick name, your formal name or any other name you're known by and see where the numbers add up.

Look at other alphabets if you will but consider the logic in the Universal Alphabet - every phone on the planet has no letter ascribed to NUMBER ONE! Change your name and you change your life - tell that to any aspiring movie star, if you don't like your name - change it.

Let's take a look at what the numbers in a name mean (in your additions you might arrive at a 10 or 19 reducing to a 1. NUMBER ONE hasn't lost its meaning, only the letters ascribed to it!) If your calculations bring you back to a number one read what it represents and see if the shoe fits...

Let me offer a few examples: OPRAH (using only the first name for the moment for the name conjures up an image) giving the numbers: 67724 (nothing to remember, I simply spelled out the name on my phone, simple, eh!) Adding the numbers together we arrive at 6+7+7+2+4 = 26, adding 2+6=8 giving the name OPRAH the NAME NUMBER of EIGHT. Interestingly, her company is called HARPO (Oprah in reverse - read what this means later). If we include the surname of WINFREY we have the numbers: 9463739: 9+4+6+3+7+3+9 = 41, 4+1 =5 and the entire name becomes a NAME NUMBER FOUR and we know she’s an Aquarian – ruled by Uranus ruled by Number Four...

Another example, for it's the name you're most commonly known by that ‘vibrates' or creates the ‘impression.' KEVIN RUDD (our former Prime Minister) 538467833 (again, nothing to remember, I simple entered his name into my phone for the numbers to appear) 5+3+8+4+6+7+8+3+3 = 45 reducing it further 4+5 =9 giving a NAME NUMBER of NINE. You can do this with any name as long as you remember the basic principle, it's the name you're known by that ‘vibrates' or creates the ‘impression' This is only one aspect of Numerological Delineation and a good one if you don't know a person's birthday, and so many of our celebrities, politicians and those of ‘fame and fortune' don't like revealing their date of birth. The secret is out: It's all in the name...

One more example before we move on: BARACK OBAMA (keeping in mind the controversy over his birthday) giving the numbers: 22722562262: 2+2+7+2+2+5+6+2+2+6+2 =38 =11, 1+1 =2 giving a NAME NUMBER TWO without knowing his date of birth we can deduce something from the name and the name alone, even if we only refer to him by his surname OBAMA = 62262: 6+2+2+6+2 =18, 1+8=9 as the leader of the USA which name from the meanings given below would you rather have? Of course, any self respecting Numerologist would look at the birth date for further information and any self respecting Astrologer would enquire as to the time and place of birth but for the rest of us, it's as simple as using the Universal Alphabet (on any phone).

Remembering a few keywords and we have, in a nutshell, a brief idea as to the person we're interested in, analysing or wanting to know what makes them tick. I've always said your NAME NUMBER reveals the Personality, the BIRTH NUMBER your CHARACTER and the ASTROLOGICAL NUMBER/SIGN your SOUL'S purpose. Read the meanings below- have fun and keep uppermost in your mind at all times - we respond or behave according to the name we're called whether we like it or not, think about it...

NAME NUMBER ONE: You like to be ‘Number One.' Ambitious, determined to get your own way, arrogant, actor/actress and a little egocentric!
